Guests brought a delicious array of appetizers, salads and desserts, and the hosts provided buns and two types of chili. Plus, Martha Stewart Marian made a football cake! Big winners of the night were Nina Anderson, first quarter $40, Eileen Cordingley, third quarter $40, and really big winners were Jan & Dennis Denney, winning the half $40 and the final $76 (someone shorted the pot). Of course, the real winners were the BC Lions with a score of 34 against 23 for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. The Bombers certainly were blue.

Mixed Christmas Dinner MC Barrie did a great job keeping us entertained. Lovely meal and fun games afterwards. Looks like Miles is trying his best to blow up one of those thin balloons, at least he got it going. The idea was to stuff balloons into pantyhose and then pretend to be a reindeer.

Oct 24-26 Installation First of all thanks to the Grey’s for hosting Friday night’s social, and the Grimwood’s and their committee for hosting Moose milk.  It was a disappointing turn out from our club and poor attendance from other clubs, but if we don’t visit them they won’t reciprocate.  But thanks to representatives from Fraser-Delta, Osoyoos, Burnaby for attending.  Wow, if you weren’t there Saturday evening, words cannot describe what happened. The guys put on a great skit about various individual seeking financial help from “Derek”, like a biker, a hooker, etc it was funny. (Rumors has it that Theresa Hlady was the creative mind).. After being installed, Derek completely surprised and overwhelmed us, he disappeared for about 5 minutes and we all wondered and then he re-appeared as a Queen. This will be a Majestic Year!

Sep 9 at Capri Doctor Kevin Kanerva from IQuest health care introduced by Derek Moran and thanked by Geoff Treadgold. Medical system is in trouble because doctors are getting burnt out treating patients based on volume. The traditional system is too focused on pills. Pharmaceuticals controls medical care by influencing world class specialists to conduct studies that support their products. Many diseases are lifestyle influenced. Waste circumference greater than 36 is trouble. He advocates integrative medicine with different professionals working together to help patients. You are what you eat. The most important way to help save the health system money is to help people not get sick by helping them lose weight and change lifestyle. A lot of health problems are related to what we eat and perceive. Control our diet, water intact, thoughts, exercise.
